MACON GREYSON - 20th Century Accidents (2007) On Oct. 9, 2007, the Dallas-based roots rock band MACON GREYSON will release their fourth LP, 20th Century Accidents. The album features MACON GREYSON's unique blend of rock and country while still retaining their fixture on socially stimulating lyrics. PASTE magazine has already called Accidents “…utterly fresh and vital” and “…straightforward rock ‘n roll” (Andy Whitman, Aug 8, 2007). The band has also been praised for their high-energy live show, which highlights their ability to fuse rock-n-roll gems with country ballads that appeal to subscribers of every musical genre. The lyrical styling of lead singer Buddy Huffman incorporates relevant topics, and his perspectives in many songs are undeniably fresh. Tracks such as “20th Century Accidents” and “I'm Still Here” emphasize this strong originality by focusing on topics like the monotony of suburban America, individuality as a personality strength, and political tensions facing us all. Paralleling political rock

very closely in both sound and lyrical content, MACON GREYSON is
hoping to dispossess prevalent typecasts that call for Americans
to ignore what is happening in the world. Huffman takes much of
his inspiration from another famously jaded and cynical American,

BLACK WATER GOSPEL (Self-Titled - 2005) FOUR STARS: "It's the searing vocals of Juan Gutierrez that separate
Black Water Gospel from the Americana pack. Gutierrez mesmerizes with his beautifully
scarred voice and impassioned delivery. Take it from one fortunate enough to
see a couple live shows — Black Water Gospel's frenetic energy is no
studio creation, but rather a representative re-creation of the band's infectious
live intensity." |

| SOMETHING BETTER
- Austin Collins (2005) "With a winning tenor somewhere between Radney Foster and Vince Gill, catchy yet eloquent songs and a high-quality, modern style, Houston native Collins (now residing in Austin) proves that contemporary commerical country can be something far better than Nashville dreck." - Rob Patterson, Spring 2005 issue of Texas Music magazine [MORE INFO / PURCHASE NOW] |
