Jon and Amy Pattillo, native Austinites, launched Fat Caddy Records in the spring of 2004 with singer-songwriter Austin Collins. The roster has since grown to include artists Dan Dyer, Brian Keane, and Macon Greyson. Fat Caddy Records has also released albums by the Band of Heathens and Black Water Gospel.
As Fat Caddy grows and music industry business models change (almost overnight sometimes it seems), the primary goals stay the same: (1) provide tools and support for artists, so those artists can do what they were created to do, full-time; (2) keep things in-house when possible to reduce costs for artists; and (3) support and give back to the incredible legacy of live music coming from Austin, Texas.
In January 2008, Fat Caddy Records released Dan Dyer’s self-titled album. In February 2008, Fat Caddy Records will release a sophomore effort by Austin Collins titled Roses are Black. Releases from 2007 include Macon Greyson’s fourth album 20th Century Accidents, and a digital single from Brian Keane, “Forbidden”.
In addition, in March 2007, Fat Caddy Records launched Fat Caddy Merchandise & Design (FCM&D), specializing in lifestyle marketing, web solutions, tour promotion and complete merchandise services. FCM&D is currently shifting all products to environmentally-friendly options when available, and produces hand-printed, numbered, limited-run products, using soy-based inks and recycled materials.

A note on people applying for jobs with us:
We are a fun and kooky
bunch. We try to keep a good sense of humor and work hard in the
midst of the sea of changes in the music industry. We provide “real-world” experiences.
We DO NOT have any paid positions available.
If you send us a resume, we
will assume you are applying for one of our un-paid internships. These internships
are accredited with UT Austin’s Business and Communications
schools.
A note on demos and random thoughts & responses to frequently asked questions:
You can always send us a demo. About once every month we get a registered mail package from Russia with some new demo donning spectacular 80s throw-back graphics (that are probably not intended to be a throw-back). This brightens our day – we feel so internationally renowned for about 30 minutes and the clerks at the post office love to help us decipher the Russian handwriting on the packaging.
That said, we will try to listen to whatever you send us and let you know if we think we can be of any help. If you are wondering whether we got your CD, send it by registered mail.
Please do not call us, but include contact information with anything you send. Please do not ask all your fans to email us and tell us we should listen to your music – we are not a radio station.
If you are not based in Texas, it is not likely we will be of any help for a record release, unless you are already working with a nationally-established booking agent, manager, or label. If you are making music that is classified primarily as “metal” or sub-genres therein, we are also not going to be of any help.
If you are looking for someone to pay for the production of your record, the chances of us doing that are very slim these days - we are not an investment group.
