THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Well, tickle us a familiar shade of Cadillac pink. You have gone and voted us the "Best Local Label" at the 2007-2008 Austin Music Awards for the second year in a row.

The Fat Caddy family is eternally grateful to all of our fans, friends, and comrades in arms for their undying support.

Since last March it has been a permanently busy year, including the release of three new albums (20th Century Accidents by MACON GREYSON, Roses Are Black by Austin Collins and Dan Dyer's Self-titled most recent effort), the opening of our sister merchandise & design operation Fat Caddy Merch & Design, and the addition of one new artist, the ever-talented Dan Dyer.

With all of that under our belt, we do not plan to stop any time soon. Our friends MACON GREYSON will be touring the west coast later this month, and if you see them drive up to your town, scrawl a nice note in the dirt on their tour van and then go to the show. Brian Keane left Austin, TX for Nashville, TN earlier this year, and is currently writing new songs for a forthcoming album that we're all very excited about.

Once again, we are so thankful to our friends all around the globe who love the work we do and the artists we support. If we could, we would buy everyone a milkshake who voted for us. We are looking forward to an even more productive 2008, continually bringing you the best new music from Austin.Texas.USA.

FAT CADDY RECORDS CELEBRATES THREE YEARS OF SUCCESS ON NOVEMBER 2ND AT CONTINENTAL CLUB

AUSTIN, Texas—Direct from 2006’s Austin Music Award for Best Local Label, Fat Caddy Records is proud to present their third anniversary show at the Continental Club on Friday, November 2.

Performers will include Fat Caddy artists Black Water Gospel, Brian Keane, Macon Greyson and Austin Collins. Old favorites as well as new songs not yet released can be expected from the performances.

Fat Caddy Records’ roster of artists is primarily based in the roots-rock tradition, and each artist on the label brings a special blend of songwriting skills along with an ear for melody. Most recently, Fat Caddy Records released Macon Greyson’s 20th Century Accidents. Releases from Brian Keane and Austin Collins will be forthcoming in 2008.

Additionally, the showcase will be recorded for release as a Fat Caddy “Family Scrapbook” early next year. Previous scrapbooks from anniversary shows in 2005 and 2006 are known for their inclusion of previously unreleased songs from Fat Caddy artists.

Taking place at the legendary Continental Club on South Congress, the show will be $8, and is set to begin at 9 p.m. with a performance by Black Water Gospel. Following will be Brian Keane at 10 p.m., Macon Greyson at 11 p.m., and Austin Collins at 12:30 a.m.

FAT CADDY RECORDS PROUDLY PRESENTS: 20TH CENTURY ACCIDENTS On Oct. 9, 2007, the Dallas-based roots rock band MACON GREYSON will release their fourth LP, 20th Century Accidents. The album features MACON GREYSON's unique blend of rock and country while still retaining their fixture on socially stimulating lyrics.

PASTE magazine has already called Accidents “…utterly fresh and vital” and “…straightforward rock ‘n roll” (Andy Whitman, Aug 8, 2007). The band has also been praised for their high-energy live show, which highlights their ability to fuse rock-n-roll gems with country ballads that appeal to subscribers of every musical genre.

More information on Macon Greyson can be found at their official website, www.macongreyson.com, or at their Myspace, www.myspace.com/macongreyson.

FAT CADDY RECORDS WINS "Best Local Label" IN THE 2006-2007 AUSTIN MUSIC AWARDS. One million heart-felt thanks go out to all of the people who voted for our little indie record label. Just like the independent labels Motown and Sun Records of the 1950's and 1960's we operate more like a musical "family" than a business corporation. We want to thank all of the staff, college interns, street team members, and amazing musicians with whom we work.

Roses Are Black by Austin Collins
in-stores Feb 26, 2008

When asked why Austin Collins chose to name his sophomore effort “Roses Are Black,” Collins simply replied, “If something is dark, it doesn't mean it's not beautiful.” That statement represents Roses Are Black in its entirety. It contains a deeply personal and cathartic vision of Austin's thoughts, be they dark or not. This most recent work characterizes the ultimate expression of Collins' tumultuous and beleaguered lyrical style, and it succeeds vibrantly at portraying a shadow-world made up of personal experiences.
